The Story of Studio Ginkgo

Jeweller and designer, creating pieces inspired by natural forms.

Studio Gingko was established in a small South London flat during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Before the lockdown our founder, Lillia Wells, had been running craft workshops for new and expecting parents. Her mission was to promote better pre and post-natal mental health by nurturing participants' creative expression. However, Lillia was forced to cancel the remaining sessions in the wake of the pandemic. The last craft group was dedicated to making simple polymer clay studs. The materials intended for the final workshop were repurposed to begin Studio Gingko.

Lillia has been designing and making jewellery using different mediums ever since. As the brand has grown she has incorporated silversmith skills from her training at Hatton Gardens. The Studio Gingko shop now includes a range of affordable, ethical fine jewellery, all hand-made in the UK.

Studio Gingko was born out of an initiative to avoid waste, repurposing materials that were no longer needed. We have remained committed to this ethos. You can read more about our sustainability policies here.
